Currently, he is a Research Associate in the Department of Psychiatry and the Department of Microbiology at the Perelman School of Medicine, in the Department of Bioengineering, and in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania (2024-present). He was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Pennsylvania (2019-2024). He holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of ABC (2008-2011), a Bachelor's degree in Science and Technology from the Federal University of ABC (2008-2010), a Master's degree in Science and Technology/Chemistry from the Federal University of ABC (2011-2013), and a PhD in Science and Technology/Chemistry from the Federal University of ABC (2013-2018). He was a visiting PhD student at the Department of Biological Engineering and the Research Laboratory of Electronics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2017-2018). He is dedicated to the study, design, synthesis, and evaluation of antimicrobial peptides with a broad spectrum of activity and the influence of physicochemical properties on the structure-activity relationship of these classes of molecules. Additionally, he works at the interface of biological chemistry, synthetic biology, and synthetic chemistry for the generation of antibiotics through probiotics. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
