I am an academic rheumatologist focused on integrating science, clinical practice, and healthcare innovation. My projects encompass epidemiology, translational medicine, shared decision-making (SDM), and the analysis of large administrative databases, such as DATASUS, to understand care trajectories and clinical outcomes.I lead the MAPEAR Laboratory, a multidisciplinary center that develops Brazilian evidence to promote patient-centered care including on autoimmune and osteometabolic diseases. My initiatives are derived from clinical observations and tailored to the Brazilian context, combining administrative data with qualitative and quantitative methods to support more efficient health policies. My teaching practice is centered on developing skills in general and osteoarticular semiology and propedeutics, contributing to the foundation of clinical reasoning for undergraduate students. I also contribute to human resource training by mentoring junior researchers in undergraduate and masters programs, as well as senior researchers in doctoral and postdoctoral studies. In addition, I maintain a private clinical practice and provide rheumatology consultations for private hospital institutions. My work also addresses emerging topics such as multimorbidities in rheumatology and global practices in shared decision-making, consistently aiming to integrate science, care, and education into my professional practice.
