Luis Alberto Follegatti Romero is a professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP). He is involved in the Graduate Programs in Chemical Engineering at both the Masters and Doctoral levels, which have received the highest rating (grade 7) by CAPES and He currently coordinates LaSPE (Laboratory of Separation and Purification Engineering) at USP. Dr. Romero completed postdoctoral research at the School of Food Engineering and the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), with a specialization in Applied Thermodynamics and Computational Thermodynamics at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He holds a PhD and a Masters degree in Food Engineering from UNICAMP, having conducted a research internship at the University of Aveiro (Portugal). Additionally, he earned undergraduate degrees in Food Engineering from UNAS (Peru) and UFLA (Brazil). He has over 20 years of experience in the production and purification of biofuels, including biogas, biohydrogen, biodiesel, biogasoline, and bioethanol. His main areas of expertise include absorption, adsorption, supercritical extraction, thermodynamic modeling, and phase equilibrium. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
