Marina Marques Teixeira Vanini

Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology from UNICAMP (2008). Conducted her research at the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS) under the supervision of Dr. C.E. Benedetti, including a sandwich internship at the Università Degli Studi di Parma, Italy (20052006). Her thesis focused on structural and functional studies of proteins from the phytopathogen Xanthomonas citri, using cloning, protein expression and purification, NMR analysis, reporter genes, knockouts, and yeast one-hybrid assays. Participated in the research group on the History of Biology in Education (IB-USP), led by Prof. Dr. Maria Elice B. Prestes (20102012). Has been teaching Biology and Science since 2008, also working in the coordination of the Science department, science fairs, scientific education programs, and mentoring student research projects presented at FEBRACE-USP.
