Eduardo Guimarães Hourneaux de Moura

Graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medical Sciences and Health of Sorocaba, Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1984), with a Master's in Medicine from the Brazilian Institute of Gastroenterology Studies and Research - IBEPEGE (1994), a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of São Paulo Medical School - FMUSP (2000), and a Free-Professor at the USP Medical School (2012).Director of the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Bronchoscopy Service at the Clinics Hospital of FMUSP (2009 - 2025) and responsible for creating the Medical Residency Program in Endoscopy at FMUSP (2014), as well as supervisor of the Medical Residency Program in Endoscopy at COREME-FMUSP (2024-2025).As an advisor in the Postgraduate Program in Gastroenterology Sciences at FMUSP, has supervised 28 Master's students and 13 Doctoral students, and is also the Teaching Responsible for the Postgraduate Discipline MGT 5773 on Idea Development, Brands, and Patents in Medicine.With an extensive academic background, has published over 450 articles in medical journals, more than 150 book chapters, and is the author of 16 works in the medical field. Focuses on Surgery and Digestive System Endoscopy, excelling in areas such as Endoscopic Treatment of Obesity and Bariatric Surgery Complications, Early Neoplasia Endoscopic Treatment, and Diagnosis and Treatment of Biliopancreatic Pathologies (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography - ERCP).Currently, holds the position of Vice-President of the World Endoscopy Organization's South America Action Committee (WEO Outreach South-America) and is President of the Brazilian Society of Endoscopy and Digestive Endoscopy (SOBED) - 2025-2026 term.
