Birthplace: Brazil

Andreone Teles Medrado [She/Her] holds degrees in Biological Sciences (UNIFIEO) and Psychology (USP), with a Master's in Neuroendocrine Physiology (USP) and a PhD in Psychology (USP) from the Department of Experimental Psychology. Her doctoral research focused on the influence of disgust on sexual attractiveness and human religiosity, with an emphasis on gender issues and sexuality perception, presented in her dissertation titled: Disgust and Human Sexuality: Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Sociosexuality. Her studies also address the process of racialization in Brazil, especially Black racialization, intertwining sexuality, gender identity, and affectivities, particularly in interracial and non-monogamous relationships. Andreone is dedicated to gender studies from an anti-colonial perspective, challenging the binary construction of the concept. Since 2023, in collaboration with key partners, she has developed, organized, and currently teaches the first course on gender from a queer anti-colonial perspective at the Institute of Psychology at USP. Andreone is one of the founders of the first Black Collective Escuta Preta at the Institute of Psychology at USP and currently serves on the Executive Coordination of the Núcleo de Consciência Negra at USP, holding the position of General Coordinator. In 2017, she created the blog Devaneios Filosóficos, where she writes critical essays on society, human subjectivities, reflective poems, and existentialist chronicles. She is also the co-author of the book Non-Monogamy: Transits Between Race, Gender Sexuality, published by Editora Telha in November 2023. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
