He holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (1975), a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (1978), and a Doctorate in Exact Sciences from the Department of Electrotechnics - Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (1985), Belgium, and post-doctorate from North Carolina State University, USA (1992). He has been a full professor at the University of São Paulo since 1999. After retirement in March 2017, he holds the position of Senior Full Professor at EPUSP (Polytechic School of Engineering). He was general coordinator - Laboratory of Integrable Systems from 02/2010 to 03/2017, was vice-president of the Association of the Laboratory of Integrable Technological Systems (LSITec) from 10/1999 to 04/2017, and since 2007 is chapter coordinator - IEEE Solid State StateS Societys Society - IEEE South Brazil. He was president and vice-president of the Brazilian Microelectronics Society from 2003 to 2007. He received the Father Roberto Landell de Moura Award in 2014 from SBMicro due to his contributions in the area of Microelectronics in Brazil. He has experience in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis on Electronic Circuits, working mainly on the following topics: microelectronics - design of integrated circuits CMOS like RF circuits, digital and analog; CAD for Microelectronics, design of integrated circuits for the health area (cancer detection) and other applications. He coordinated the development of a FrontEnd System with DSP (SAMPA ASIC) for the upgrade of the ALICE Experiment of the particle accelerator in CERN, Switzerland, during the period of Nov.2013 to April.2022. His RD activities have resulted in more than 220 publications in national and international journals and conferences, and he has graduated more than 40 PhD and Masters students.
