Ana Carolina de Souza Chagas holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF, 1996), a master's degree in Behavior and Ecology of Zooparasites (UFJF, 1999) and PhD in Animal Science from the Veterinary School of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2001). She is a researcher at the Embrapa Southeastern Livestock Research Unit (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation - Embrapa CPPSE). She has expertise in the Veterinary Parasitology area: Rhipicephalus tick (Boophilus) microplus; gastrointestinal nematodes of small ruminants; phytotherapy; nanostructured formulations based on plant molecules, targeted selective treatment (TST); parasite resistance. Five technological products were registered under her authorship. She was recognized in the 94th (2022) and 92nd (2023) position of the Research.com Ranking of the best scientists in Animal Science and Veterinary. She teaches and supervises students from the Graduate Program in Veterinary Sciences, School of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences, UNESP Jaboticabal. She has been conducting training of students and professionals in in vitro techniques for evaluation of efficacy of natural and synthetic products on gastrointestinal nematodes learned at the Moredun Research Institute, Scotland, and at University of Geogia, USA.
