Graduated in Physiotherapy from the Federal University of São Carlos (1997), she holds a Masters degree in Nutrition (2001) and a PhD in Sciences (2005) from the Paulista School of Medicine at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), which included a doctoral research placement at the Obesity Biology Unit, School of Clinical Sciences, University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. She completed her postdoctoral studies in Nutrition Physiology at UNIFESP as a PDJ/CNPq fellow (2013). She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Biosciences at the UNIFESP Baixada Santista Campus. With extensive experience in Nutrition Physiology, Endocrine Physiology, and Neurophysiology, her research focuses on the study of fatty acid metabolism in adipose, muscular, and hepatic tissues, particularly in relation to non-pharmacological interventions, such as the use of nutraceuticals and experimental physical training. She also leads projects exploring the relationship between lipid metabolism and behavioural changes, contributing to the advancement of knowledge on alternative therapies and their effects on the body.
