Master in Rural Sociology, Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture / USP, PhD in Social Anthropology from the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences / USP, Associate Professor 2 at ESALQ / USP, currently a Senior Lecturer at the same School. It is linked to the Interunits Postgraduate Program in Applied Ecology - ESALQ / CENA of the University of São Paulo. In this Program, she directs his master's and doctoral degrees in the area of ​​Environment and Society. She focuses on traditional and / or local communities such as quilombolas, riverine people, settlers and indigenous societies, their challenges, problems and conflicts in their relationship with the wider society. with emphasis on food security and sovereignty, sustainability and autonomy, public policies and development, water security. He has participated in interdisciplinary projects, seeking the theoretical and methodological interface between social and natural sciences, in processes that involve collaborative governance in social and environmental issues.Shet has developed extension work with rural communities, using local resources, particularly handicrafts with banana fibers, aiming at alternatives of occupation and income.
