Graduated in Pharmacy from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo in 1986; PhD in Sciences with a concentration in Pharmacology from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of São Paulo in 1994; Associate Professor at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of São Paulo (FCF-USP) in 2006 and Full Professor at the same Faculty in 2011. Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Toxicology and Toxicological Analysis at FCF-USP from 2006 to 2012 and of the Pharmacy Program - Pathophysiology and Toxicology - from 2020 to 2023. Head of the Department of Clinical and Toxicological Analysis at FCF-USP from 2012-2016. Vice-president and president of the Brazilian Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (ABCF) in the 2019-2020 and 2021-2022 , respectively. President of the Research Committee at FCF-USP for the 2024-2026 term. Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC), ABCF, the Brazilian Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (SBFTE), the Brazilian Society of Toxicology (SBTox), and the Society of Toxicology (SOT). Conducts research in inflammation and immunotoxicology. Coordinator of regular and thematic projects from FAPESP. Supervised 23 Master's and 14 Doctoral students and 8 Post-Doctoral researchers. Has national and international collaborations. Published 144 papers in international journals, with 3,668 citations and an H-index of 36 according to the Web of Science, and 5,861 citations and an H-index of 43 according to Google Scholar.
