Graduated in Agronomy from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho, School of Agronomic Sciences - Botucatu (1995). Sandwich PhD in Phytopathology from the Federal University of Viçosa (2001) and the National Institute of Agronomic Research, INRA-Bordeaux, France. Associate Professor in Plant Virology at São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho, School of Agronomic Sciences-Botucatu (since 2015). Was president of the Internal Biosafety Committee of FCA from 2012 to 2016. Vice-Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Plant Protection from January 2013 to 2017. President of the FCA/Unesp Permanent Research Commission (2014-2015 and 2015-2016). Vice-head of the Plant Protection Department (2015-2016). Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Agronomy, with a concentration in Plant Protection (CAPES grade 6) from June 2017 to May 2021. Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Agronomy, with a concentration in Plant Protection (CAPES grade 6) from June 2017 to May 2021 and June 2021 to May 2022. Currently head of the Plant Protection Department (term 02/2024 to 01/2026). Has experience in Phytopathology/Virology, mainly working on the following topics: vegetable viruses, viruses transmitted by whiteflies (Bemisia tabaci) and molecular techniques for the characterization and detection of phytopathogens. Conducted a sabbatical internship at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, USA from August 2022 to January 2023 under the supervision of Prof. Francisco Ochoa-Corona through the CAPES/PrINT program.
