Gladis Massini-Cagliari is a Full Professor in the Department of Linguistics, Literature and Classical Languages at the School of Humanities and Sciences of São Paulo State University - Unesp, Araraquara, where she has worked since 1996. She holds a Bachelor's and Licentiate degree in Languages from Unicamp, where she also completed her Master's and Doctorate degrees in Linguistics. She completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Oxford (2002) and the University of Sheffield (2023), England. Author of 6 books and editor of 11 others, having published numerous articles in journals, book chapters and full texts in proceedings, in the areas of Historical Linguistics, Phonology, Literacy, and Language Policy. Her research focuses primarily on finding clues in the records of medieval secular and religious cantigas that allow us to glimpse the history of the rhythm and prosody of Portuguese, from its origins to the present day.
