Ana Maria G. R. Oda is a psychiatrist (1991) and has a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences (2003) from the University of Campinas (Unicamp), Brazil. Her doctoral thesis was on the History of Scientific Racism in Brazil. She has experience teaching Clinical Psychiatry and Community Mental Health, as well as in research in the History of Medicine. She was a University of São Carlos professor from 2009 to 2014. From 2018 to 2021, she was the editor-in-chief of the Revista Latinoamericana de Psicopatologia Fundamental (Latin-American Journal for Fundamental Psychopathology) and now is the editor of the History of Psychiatry section. She is currently head of the Department of Psychiatry of the School of Medicine and a professor of the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Applied Human and Social Sciences of the Unicamp. Her themes of interest are Mental health policies, Racism and anti-racism at the University, Human Sciences and Psychiatry, History of Psychiatry. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
