He is currently a professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte and a permanent professor in the Graduate Programs in Physics at UFRN and UERN. He holds a master's degree (2009) and a doctorate (2012) in Astrophysics from the National Institute for Space Research and a bachelor's degree in Physics (2006) from the State University of Feira de Santana-BA. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of São Paulo (2013-2014 and 2015-2017), at the Department of Physics and Astronomy - Johns Hopkins University (2014-2015), and at the Department of Physics - UFRN (2017-2019), and as a visiting professor at UERN (2019-2020). He was a visiting researcher at the Space Telescope at Science Institute in Baltimore-US (2015) and at The Royal Observatory in Edinburgh-UK (2015). Two first-author papers (2015 and 2019) were selected as a highlight of the year by NOVA of the American Astronomical Society. Since 2011, he has published more than 45 scientific papers, which have more than 1600 citations and H factor = 25 (Source: Google Scholar 30/01/2023).
