Birthplace: Brazil

Guilhermino J. M. Fechine is an Associate Professor at Mackenzie Institute for Research in Graphene and Nanotechnologies MackGraphe, Mackenzie Presbyterian University, São Paulo, Brazil. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Federal University of Pernambuco (Brazil) in 2001. From 2002 to 2007 he worked at São Paulo University as researcher focusing on polymer hydrogels as well as polymer photodegradation and stabilization. He held position as an Associate Professor at Mackenzie Presbyterian University in 2008. The current topics addressed in his research are related to the understanding of the interactions between polymers and 2D materials (graphene, graphene oxide, MoS2, hBN, phosphorene, etc.), whether for improving transfer processes or polymeric nanocomposites with multifunctionalities and high performance in mechanical, electrical, thermo, tribological and biological properties. He was a visiting researcher for one year at the National University of Singapore (2013) and for short periods at Case Western Reserve University (Ohio, USA) - 2016, Bulgarian Academy of Science (Sofia, Bulgaria) - 2018 and at the Institute for Composite and Biomedical Materials IMCB - ( Portici, Italy) - 2019.
