Birthplace: Brazil

Holds a bachelor's degree in Physics from the Federal University of São Carlos (2000), a master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos (2002), and a doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering from the same institution (2005). Has been a full professor at the Araraquara Institute of Chemistry (UNESP) since 2024, where he teaches Physics at the undergraduate level and Materials at the graduate level. He was a visiting researcher at the University of Tuebingen in 2020, at École Polytechnique Montréal (PolyMtl) in 2017, and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2011, 2014, and 2015. He coordinates the Electron Microscopy Laboratories at the Araraquara Institute of Chemistry. My main research area is in Materials Science and Engineering, with an emphasis on semiconducting ceramic materials. The applications I pursue with the materials under study include gas sensors, varistors, and, more recently, photocatalysis. I have published 100 scientific articles in international journals, authored 7 book chapters, and served as the editor of the most comprehensive work on tin oxide (https://www.elsevier.com/books/tin-oxide-materials/korotcenkov/978-0-12-815924-8). The articles and books have received more than 4,000 citations on the Google Scholar platform. I also work in the field of technological innovation, serving as an advisor to start-ups and have experience in patent production within my areas of expertise. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
