Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering obtained at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (1967), Master's degree on Food Science and Technology (1970) and PhD in Food Engineering (1990) at University of Campinas (Brazil). His main activity as professor in the Food Engineering Undergraduate Course was teaching Unit Operations. He collaborated to create an inter-disciplinary research field to study the interface between Food Production - Environment and Society. His main activities in the Food Engineering Post-Grade Program were teaching and research on Systems Ecology, Ecological Engineering and Ecological Economics. He realized research on Food Systems Emergy Assessment, Modelling and comparison of ecological sustainable systems and conventional agriculture farming. He is retired since 2015 but maintains interaction with university and peasants movement. He is preparing video lectures for courses on Emergy Assessment and Ecosystems Modeling and Simulation. Since 2020 he does not frequent the Laboratory of Ecological Enginering due to pandemy and his own personnal health problems, because of that, some of his commitments with the university suffered a delay.
