Graduated in Geology from the University of São Paulo (1971), master's degree in Geosciences (Sedimentary Geology) from the University of São Paulo (1977) and a PhD in Regional Geology from Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho (1991). He is currently a professor at the University of Guarulhos, where he was coordinator of the Master's Program in Geoenvironmental Analysis. He has experience in Geosciences with an emphasis on Basin Analysis and Environmental Geology, acting on the following topics: Sedimentary Basin of Paraná, Sedimentary Basins of São Paulo and Taubaté, and Water Quality in Watershed of the municipalities of São Paulo, Guarulhos and Arujá, State of São Paulo.
