Invited Lecturer at CISM - International Centre for Mechanical Sciences, Italy, 2012. Editor in Chief, Marine Systems Ocean Technology (2004-2013) and Associate Editor, Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering, ASME (2007-10; 2013-16; 2016-19). Member of the Executive Committee, OOAE-ASME, 2020-2025; Chair 2024-2025. Committee Member - European Research Council (Advanced Grants, 2021, 2023). Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department (2007-2011). Head of the Naval and Ocean Engineering Department (2022-2026). Founder (1994) and head (ever since) of the Offshore Mechanics Laboratory - LMO. Secretary of the Offshore and Petroleum Engineering Committee, ABCM - Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering (2005-2020). Co-chairman (2011-2020) and Chairman (2020 - ) of the NAP-OceanoS, Research Nucleus Sustainable Ocean, USP. USP representative at the Petrobras Submarine Structures Research Network Committee, 2006-2013. Chairman of the Faculty Career Evaluation Committee for Mechanical, Ocean and Aeronautical Engineering, USP, (2011-2013). RD projects leader sponsored by CNPq, FAPESP, FINEP, Brazilian Navy, Petrobras, SHELL, Prysmian, Repsol, BG EP, Equinor, Exxon. Formerly (1979-1989), worked as research engineer at the Technological Research Institute of São Paulo State (IPT). Scholarship within a sandwich PhD program at the California Institute of Technology, Engineering Sciences Department, 1984-85. Expertise in Naval and Ocean Engineering, focusing on Dynamics, Hydrodynamics and Structural Mechanics.
