Ducinei Garcia

Degree in Physics from the Federal University of São Carlos (1986), a master's degree in Applied Physics from the University of São Paulo (1989), and a PhD in Applied Physics from the University of São Paulo (1995). FAPESP-granted visiting scholar at the Materials Research Lab (MRL), Penn State University, between 1998 and 2000. Currently is a Full Professor in the Department of Physics and General Secretary of the International Relations Office of the Federal University of São Carlos. Pro-Rector of Extension at UFSCar between 2021-2024. Among other positions in higher education administration, also held the vice-coordination of the Physics Engineering course, the coordination of the Bachelor's and Licentiate courses in Physics, vice-coordination of the Graduate Program in Physics, and coordinator of the Teacher Training Center (NFP) at UFSCar. PQ-CNPq researcher between 2003-2024, reaching level I-C. Her research experience is in the Experimental and Applied Physics area, with emphasis on Condensed Matter Physics and Materials Science. Particularly in non-metallic inorganic materials involving the development of single crystals/ceramics of multifunctional ferroic materials and characterization of structural, microstructural, dielectric, optical and electro-optic properties. Due to her interest in science teaching and scientific dissemination, she coordinates a program and participates in university extension projects in the continuing education of elementary and high school teachers.
