He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Tübingen (1998). He was a professor at the Chemistry Institute of the University of Brasília from 1999 to 2006. Since then, he has been a professor at the Chemistry Institute of São Carlos, University of São Paulo, where he works primarily in the areas of preparative, structural, and medicinal inorganic chemistry, with an emphasis on the development of cancer chemotherapeutics and theranostics of nuclear medicine interest.
