She has a Bachelor's degree in Physics (1991) and a Master's degree in Physics (1994) from USP São Carlos, a PhD in Electrical Engineering (1999) from King's College, University of London. She was a software engineer at the Eldorado Research Institute (2000-2002). She was a postdoctoral fellow from 2002 to 2004 at UNICAMP, working with brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) processing. Since 2004, she has been a professor at the Gleb Wataghin Institute of Physics at UNICAMP, where she has taught mainly courses aimed at bachelor's degrees in Medical and Biomedical Physics. Since 2005, she has been part of the Neurophysics Group at UNICAMP, having worked in the following lines of research: 'static' and functional MR spectroscopy, texture analysis of anatomical MR images, brain connectivity studies based on functional MR images and electroencephalography, brain-machine interfaces, development and evaluation of assistive and rehabilitation technologies for motor functions. She was a researcher at the CInAPCe Program (Interinstitutional Cooperation to Support Research on the Brain) funded by FAPESP (2007-2013), and the DesTINe project (Development of Information Technologies for Neurology) funded by FINEP (2010-2014). She was coordinator of the XTReMe project (eXperiências de Tecnologias de Rehabilitação em Medicina) funded by FINEP (2016-2019). Since 2013 she has been co-principal researcher at CEPID BRAINN (Brazilian Institute of Neuroscience and Neurotechnology) funded by FAPESP. She was IFGW outreach projects coordinator (2019-2024).
