Full Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP), supervisor in the Postgraduate Programs: Sustainability (PPg-Sus EACH/USP), Environmental Science (PROCAM/IEE/USP), and Environment, Health and Sustainability (FSP/USP) and in the Undergraduate Program in Environmental Management (EACH/USP). During his doctoral studies at the University of São Paulo (EESC), he was a Visiting Scholar at Miami University, USA (Sandwich Doctorate from 1995 to 1997). He obtained his Habilitation (Livre-Docência) from USP in the area of #8203;#8203;sanitation and sustainability (2012). He completed a Postdoctoral/Visiting Scholarship at the University of California - Berkeley, USA (2015 and 2016). He was a visiting professor at Lund University, Sweden (2022), and at TU Delft, Netherlands (2024a, 2024b). He coordinated the Postgraduate Program (Master's and Doctorate) in Sustainability, having been one of its creators and co-founders. He served as president of the Postgraduate Commission of EACH/USP. He leads the Research Group (CNPq): Water, Sanitation and Sustainability - GEPASS and coordinates the Laboratory for Research in Environmental Technologies (LabSanTec), the Multi-User Center for Environmental, Chemical and Bioprocess Analyses - AQUABIO (https://pnipe.mcti.gov.br/laboratory/18022) at USP. He coordinates the Center for Science for Development, Sanitation and Climate Resilience SANEACLIMA. He is a doctoral, master's, and undergraduate research advisor and postdoctoral supervisor at USP. She served as president of the Research Committee of EACH/USP (02/2020 to 02/2022) and vice-president of the same (2022-2024). She has experience in coordinating projects funded by national and international funding agencies, including in national and international networks. Member of the Advisory Board of Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering - American Chemical Society. Member of the International Water Association - IWA (UK). CNPq Scientific Productivity Fellow. Her research interests include: Innovation in wastewater management and treatment systems with resource recovery and utilization, conversion of waste into energy and/or bioproducts; bioprocesses and bioelectrochemistry; Sustainable and decentralized sanitation; Water resources, basic and environmental sanitation; Environmental biotechnology; Micropollutants in water; Natural infrastructure and climate change, sustainable and resilient cities, Circular economy. He has scientific collaborations and exchanges with researchers from Germany, the USA, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Sweden, and China. In 2025, he will participate in the Scientific Committee of the Water Smart Economy and Society Congress (IWA and H2020), Rotterdam, Netherlands (https://wses2025.dryfta.com/76-team).
