Received his bachelor?s degree in Physics at the University of Campinas (Unicamp, Brazil) in 2001. In 2006, received his PhD from the same institution for the thesis ?Brillouin scattering in Photonic Crystal Fibers?. During his PhD, he was a visitor at the University of Bath (UK) in 2004 and at the Max-Planck Institue (Germany) in 2005. From 2006 to 2012, he worked at the Optical Fiber Division of Corning Incorporated (Corning, USA). Since 2013, he is a professor at the Physics Institute at Unicamp. His research interest includes nanophotonics, nonlinear optics, light scattering in waveguides, photonic crystals and photon-phonon interaction in waveguides. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
