Birthplace: Brazil

Graduate in Physics from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, UNESP (1993). Master in Physic from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1996) and Ph.D. in Physics from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2001). Post-Doc in Physics at Ames Laboratory - Iowa State University (2001 - 2003) and Hiroshima University (2003 - 2008). Worked from 2009 to Jun/2020 as professor at UFABC/Brazil and since Aug/2020 as a associate professor at Iowa State University. My research interests lie in the areas of thermoelectric, superconducting and magnetic materials, critical phenomena, phase transitions, and understanding of the fundamental properties of these materials. In more general terms, my present and future interests involve the understanding of novel electron-correlation effects in intermetallic systems (superconductivity, Kondo effect, heavy-fermion and mixed-valence behavior, non-Fermi liquid phenomena, metal-insulator transitions, quasi-one-dimensional magnetism, strongly correlated electron systems-spin/valence fluctuations) employing temperature and field dependent transport, magnetic and specific heating measurements.
