Has got the Bachelor's degree in Physics from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in 1983 and the Master's degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais in 1986. The Doctorate in Condensed Matter Physics was achieved in 1993 from Johannes Kepler Universität Linz in Austria. Has entered in 1986 as a Researcher in the Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais - INPE, where occupies today the position of Senior Technologist. From december/2001 to december/2006 was Chief of the Associate Laboratory of Sensors and Materials at INPE and was the Coordinator of the Associate Laboratories of INPE from december/2006 to august/2012. Since august/2012 to may/2015 was the Coordinator of Strategic Planning and Evaluation of INPE. Has experience in Physics with emphasis on Condensed Matter Physics, working mainly in the following topics: semiconductor materials, epitaxial growth techniques, high resolution x-ray diffraction, transport measurements and electrical and magnetic properties of materials.
