Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC). Centro de Ciências Naturais e Humanas (CCNH)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

I studied physics at Universidade Estadual Paulista (Rio Claro, SP, Brazil), finishing my graduation receiving the award for best academic performance in the class. After that, I moved to the city of São Carlos (SP, Brazil) where I did my master's degree at the Institute of Physics of São Carlos, Universidade de São Paulo, under the guidance of Prof. Sylvester Ragusa. My dissertation dealt with a non-symmetrical extension of the general theory of relativity and quantum field theory into curved spacetimes. I obtained my PhD in the same city, at the Physics Department of the Universidade Federal de São Carlos under the guidance of Prof. Miled H.Y. Moussa. My thesis was developed in the area of #8203;#8203;open quantum systems and the dynamical Casimir effect. After completing my PhD, I moved to the Centro de Ciências Naturais e Humanas at the Universidade Federal do ABC, in the city of Santo André (SP, Brazil), as a postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Prof. Roberto M. Serra. I spent four years studying quantum information theory, especially focusing on its links to the foundations of quantum mechanics, relativity, and thermodynamics, both theoretically and experimentally. Since 2012 I have been a professor at the Physics Institute of the Universidade Federal de Goiás, in the city of Goiânia (GO, Brazil), coordinating the research group QPequi (qpequi.com). During my career, I developed many collaborations, both in Brazil and abroad and visited many universities around the world. Among my main duties at the university, I have to teach (undergraduate and graduate), supervise graduate and undergraduate students, as well as carry out scientific research. My main research interests are the fundamentals of quantum mechanics, relativity and thermodynamics, using information theory as a tool, both from a theoretical and experimental point of view. I am currently a member of the Quantum Science and Technology Area Committee of the Brazilian Physics Society. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
