She holds a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biological Sciences and a Teaching License from the State University of Campinas (2001), a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the State University of Campinas (2006), a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Florida (2008), and an MBA in Project Management from USP-Esalq (2021). Currently, she is a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation and a permanent professor in the postgraduate program in Bioengineering at the Federal University of São João del-Rei (UFSJ). She was a professor in the professional master's program in Biotechnology and Innovation Management and bachelor for Biology and Health courses at the University Center of Sete Lagoas (UNIFEMM). She was a member of the Internal Technical Committee of Embrapa Maize and Sorghum (2019-2023) and currently belongs to the board of the postgraduate program in Bioengineering at UFSJ (2019-). She is an associate editor of the Brazilian Journal of Botany . She was a member of the Maize Genetics Advocacy Committee (MGAC) (Latin and South American Representative) and currently is a member of Maize Genetics Meeting Steering Committee (MGMSC) and the Maize Genetics Committee on Outreach, Diversity, Inclusion, and Education (CODIE). Since 2024, she has been acting as the Principal Researcher of the Research Center for Genomics Applied to Climate Change (GCCRC), established by Embrapa, the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), and the São Paulo Research Foundation (Fapesp). She has experience in the field of genetics, with emphasis on plant genetics, molecular biology, plant physiology, biochemistry, microbial ecology, and plant-soil-microorganism interaction, mainly focusing on biotic and abiotic stresses, with emphasis on different mechanisms related to phosphorus use efficiency in grasses.
