Janete Maria Cerutti

She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Passo Fundo (1986), a Masters (1991) and PhD (1995) in Genetics in the area of Molecular Biology from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). Visiting Professor at Duke University (2002-2003) and Assistant Research Professor at Johns Hopkins Medical School (2005). She is an ad hoc CNPq, FAPESP and the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology, Endocrinology, Thyroid, BMC Cancer, Genetics and Molecular Biology, Journal of Endocrinology, Cancer Research, Neoplasia, Endocrine-Related Cancer, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. Member of the Latin American Thyroid Society (LATS), Brazilian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism - Department of Thyroid and Brazilian Society of Genetics. Corresponding Member of the American Thyroid Association. She was Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Structural and Functional Biology of UNIFESP (2009-2013), Vice-coordinator of the Postgraduate Chamber, São Paulo Campus, UNIFESP (2013-2015), Director of the Society's Thyroid Department Brazilian Department of Endocrinology and Metabology (2013-2016), Secretary of the Department of Thyroid (2017-2018). Member of the Executive Committee of LATS (2009-2012, 2015-2019), Received Young Researcher Award from the Latin American Thyroid Society (LATS) in 2001 and Senior Researcher Award of the Latin American Thyroid Society (LATS) during the 15th International Thyroid Congress, Orlando, USA (2015) .Students presented by the graduate students under their guidance received LATS Young Researcher awards in the years 2005, 2007, 2011, 2013 and 2017. Currently she is Associate Professor and Professor of Genetics, Head of Genetics and Director of the Laboratory of Genetic Basis of Thyroid Tumors, Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP, Campus SP).
