Full Professor in the Department of Hydraulics and Sanitation, Sao Carlos School of Engineering at University of Sao Paulo (USP), Brazil. Her research is focus in selection, design, evaluation and cost analysis of drinking water treatment technologies. Her research lines also include the sustainable development goals 3 (i.e. good health and well-being) and 6 (i.e. clean water and sanitation), detection and reduction of protozoa in environmental matrices and removal of hazardous chemical pollutants from drinking water. Prof. Sabogal-Paz is an experienced researcher in low-cost drinking water treatment and she has authored key publications in her research areas. On Scopus has an Index-H =14 and on Google Scholar has more than 1000 citations. She is visiting Professor at Ulster University (UK) and was a visiting professor at the Universidad de la Rioja (Spain). She has been co-researcher on two major projects funded by UK Research and Innovation UKRI (i.e. SafeWater and SafeWater Translate) and has a research project funded by the Royal Society (UK). She is currently guest editor of two Elsevier journals (i.e. Water Research and Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering). She has coordinated several international and Brazilian agreements. Prof. Sabogal-Paz is a reviewer in various international and Brazilian journals. She is a member of the UKRI International Development Peer Review College. She acts as a reviewer of research projects in British and Brazilian institutions. She and her students have reached Brazilian and international recognition. She supervises and has supervised postdoctoral researchers and postgraduate and undergraduate students. Public research councils in Brazil and the United Kingdom have financing her research.
