Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Física (IF) (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal) Birthplace: Brazil
Post-Doc in Sciences from the University of São Paulo (2008), with emphasis in the area of #8203;#8203;theoretical Nuclear Physics and Particle Physics. Worked in the areas of nuclear reactions induced by photons and hadrons, as well as in processes of photoproduction of mesons at intermediate and high energies. Also worked on the following topics: nuclear reactions, nuclear excitation mechanisms via virtual photon exchange, quasi-deuteron mechanism, giant electric dipole resonance, short-range correlations, photofission, nuclear photoproduction of pseudo-scalar and vector mesons, processes of vector meson exchange, Regge model, effects of nuclear matter on vector meson properties and Monte Carlo methods via intranuclear cascade model. In November of 2022 concluded a Post-Doc project at the Institute of Physics at USP related to multidisciplinary studies with an emphasis on the assessment of mental fatigue through biomathematical models. Coordinator of the National Commission on Human Fatigue (CNFH) of the National Committee for the Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (CNPAA) since 2018 and spokesperson for the Fadigômetro Project since 2017 (www.fadigometro.com.br). Advisor for the Professional Master's Course in Aviation Safety and Continued Airworthiness at the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA) since 2021. He also developed mathematical modeling to describe the dynamics of pandemics, combining Monte Carlo techniques and analytical approaches based on Gompertz functions. Such models were applied to describe the evolution of infections and deaths caused by COVID-19 in the early stages of the pandemic, as well as estimates of the severity of the Ômicron variant in some countries, providing uncertainty ranges for the fitted functions.
