Dr. Diogo Ventura Lovato is a researcher and professor with a solid background in Biological Sciences from UNIFESP, where he also obtained his PhD in Molecular Biology (2008). His career path includes three postdoctoral positions at renowned institutions: Federal University of São Paulo (2009-2010), Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (2011-2013), and the Structural Genomics Consortium at the University of Toronto, Canada (2013-2015). University professor at PUC-Campinas, teaching Human Genetics and Molecular Biology disciplines. His career demonstrates versatility and evolution, transitioning from the biochemistry of hematophagous insects and molecular parasitology to structural biology of protein kinases, and more recently, to the genetics of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and neurodevelopmental disorders. Since 2016, has been working as a Clinical Variant Curation Scientist applying molecular genetics knowledge to clinical analysis of genetic variants in ASD and related genetic conditions.
