Paulo Franchetti graduated in Brazilian and Portuguese literatures and French at Universidade Estadual Paulista, UNESP (1975), has an M.A. from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas in São Paulo, UNICAMP (1981), and a Ph.D from the Universidade de São Paulo, USP (1992). From 2004 to 2015 worked as full Professor in Unicamp (he has retired in March 17, 2015). From 2002 to 2013 was the editor and director of Editora da Unicamp.
