Ana Paula Martins Gouveia, born in São Paulo, has been studying Buddhist philosophy since 2002. She completed post-doctoral studies in Buddhist Studies at the Sorbonne (Paris, 2014) with Professor Matthew Kapstein and at the University of California, Santa Barbara (2012) with Professor José Cabezon. She also studied Philosophy of Communication at USP (2011-2015). She holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Communication Studies from ECA-USP, with a research internship at the University of Surrey Roehampton (London). Supported by FAPESP throughout her academic journey, she lived for seven years in the Tibetan monastery of Khadro Ling in Brazil. She is the author of Introduction to Buddhist Philosophy (Paulus, 2016) and has published several articles and book chapters. Since 2014 she has been a member of the Padmakara Translation Group, translating texts from Tibetan into Portuguese with the support of the Khyentse Foundation (since 2017). In 2024, she became president (in Brazil) and vice-president (in Portugal) of the Portuguese branch of the Padmakara Translation Group, now a non-profit association. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
