Earned his BSc degree in Geosciences from University of São Paulo, Brazil, (2003). Earned his PhD in the same institution, in 2010, studying fractured rock aquifers n the State of São Paulo. Now works as a Professor at the Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM), also acting as the vice-coordinator of the "Hidrossistemas e o Homem na Amazônia" (Hydrossystems and Humans in the Amazon), coordinating and participating in research projects focusing on sedimentary aquifers in Manaus and the Brazilian Amazon Region, and cooperating with other Brazilian and international research groups. Acted as the Deputy Director of the International Relations Office from 2013 to 2017, and as the Coordinator of the Languages Without Borders Program from 2016 to 2017, at UFAM. Prof. Wahnfried is Counselor ate the Amazonas State Water Resources Council, and vice-counselor at the Regional Engineering Council - State of Amazonas. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
