Graduated in Pharmacy-Biochemistry from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (2000), Master's (2002) and Ph.D. (2006) in Physiology from the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo. Postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratory of Systemic Inflammation at St Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center (2008-2009). She served as a visiting research associate at the University of California - Santa Barbara (2019-2022). She is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of ABC in São Bernardo do Campo. Current research field focus on Physiology and Neuroscience, working on the understanding on how biological processes and environmental factors influence organs and systems, especially those related to the central nervous system and the brain. Using an approach with an emphasis on genes, molecules and cells, the laboratory's studies aim to understand the pathophysiological and cellular bases that lead to the development of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease.
