I'm a professor of Anthropology in the department of Genetics and Evolutionary Biology at the University of São Paulo. I obtained my undergraduate degree in History from the Federal University of Pará (1990), and a master and PhD degrees in Anthropology from the University of Colorado (1994, 2000). I've also two terms as postdoc researcher at the University of São Paulo (2011-2013) and at Indiana University (2011) focus on my research on Nutritional and Environmental Anthropology (2001-2003). My research interest and experience in mainly on Ecological and Nutritional Anthropology of Ribeirinhos population in Amazonia and Quilombolas from the Southeastern Brazil. In addition, I've coordinated a binational collaboration of research on the Historical Ecology of the Lambayeque Valley, on the northern coast of Peru. Currently, I'm working on ethnoecology and in self domestication of large Mammals. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
