Graduated in Chemistry from Universidade Estadual de Londrina (1997), with master's and PhD degrees in Chemistry from Universidade Federal de São Carlos (2001 and 2004, respectively), currently working as an Associate Professor at Universidade de São Paulo (USP), where he heads the Department of Exact Sciences (2022-2026 term). Expert in analytical chemistry, with extensive experience in trace metal analysis, analytical instrumentation, and sample preparation, particularly at the intersection of chemistry, agriculture, and the environment. He coordinates the CEPARA university extension group and serves as a technical consultant for Abisolo. He actively engages in various technical and academic projects, including chemical analysis training for agricultural cooperatives and fertilizer companies, specialized courses on complexes and chelates, and participates in studies assessing the economic feasibility of analytical laboratories. He is deeply involved in institutional activities, notably as a member of the Esalq-USP congregation, faculty representative at Campus Luiz de Queiroz, and fiscal councilor of FEALQ.
