Full Professor at the Institute of Psychology of the University of São Paulo (IPUSP), institution in which he completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology, his master's degree and doctorate in Experimental Psychology -- the latter in collaboration with the University of Massachusetts Medical School - Shriver Center (Boston, USA). At IPUSP, he coordinates the Laboratory of Experimental Analysis of Behavior (Lab_AEC), in which investigates complex learning processes, such as observing behavior (subsidy for the understanding of attentional and discriminative processes) and the establishment of symbolic repertoires (subsidy for relational and linguistic thinking). He is the vice-coordinator of the National Institute of Science and Technology on Behavior, Cognition and Teaching (INCT-ECCE, MCT/CNPq/FAPESP), where he investigates the teaching of reading based on the paradigm of equivalence of stimuli. He has served as a visiting professor at the University of North Texas - United States (2011), Université Charles-de-Gaulle Lille III - France (2012) and Aichi University of Education - Japan (2014). He was Vice-President of the Brazilian Society of Psychology (SBP) between 2006 and 2009. He is an honorary professor at the Autonomous University of Peru. At USP, he coordinated the undergraduate course in Psychology (2001 to 2007), implemented and coordinated the Gerontology course at the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities (2005-2006), held the positions of Director of the Institute of Psychology (2012 to 2016), Dean of Undergraduate Studies (2016-2017), Pro-Rector of Undergraduate Studies pro-tempore (Feb 2018), Chief of Staff of the Rector (2018 to 2019) and Superintendent of Social Assistance (2020-2022). He was executive secretary of the Council of Rectors of São Paulo State Universities (CRUESP) in 2019. He was a member of the State Council of Social Assistance of São Paulo - CONSEAS/SP (2020-2022). He is the Coordinator of the Psychology Area and Member of the Technical-Scientific Council of Higher Education of CAPES (2022-2026), after having completed the mandates of Coordinator (2018-2022) and Adjunct Coordinator (2014-2018).
