Graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences (Teaching) from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) in 2002, and completed a Ph.D. at the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Unicamp in 2010. He underwent technical training at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia from September to November 2006. He has experience in Molecular Biology, with an emphasis on gut microbiota associated with nutrition, diabetes, obesity, and inflammatory bowel diseases. He has supervised one undergraduate research student and is currently supervising three undergraduate students, one masters student, and co-supervising one masters and two doctoral students.He has published approximately 78 articles in international journals, with over 2,390 citations on Google Scholar. He has been a member of the Brazilian Study Group for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (GEDIIB) since 2021 and is an associate researcher at the Nanomaterials and Nanotoxicology Group at Unifesp-São José dos Campos. He is a researcher at the National Institute of Science and Technology for Obesity and Diabetes (INCT) and a registered advisor in the graduate program in Medical Sciences at FCM/Unicamp. Additionally, he serves as an editor for the journal Frontiers in Nutrition - Nutrition and Microbes (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
