Full Professor in Soil Biology at ESALQ/USP. Represents the International Society for Microbial Ecology (ISME) in Brazil, and is an Affiliate Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. He works in the area of #8203;#8203;Soil and Environmental Microbiology, focusing on analyzing microbial communities. Studies microbial communities in natural areas, and especially in agricultural areas.
