M.Sc. PhD. Biochemist with over 15 years of scientific experience in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and previous industrial experience in the Development of Analytical Methods. Ten years of research experience with cellular signaling pathways involving inflammation, embryogenesis and immune response Authorship on over 30 research publications in high impact journals. Broad international scientific experience, working at well-recognized institutions like The Salk Institute (CA, USA), University College London (London, UK) and Universidade de Sao Paulo (SP, Brazil). Actual duties include co-responsibility by the development of biochemical and cell-based HTS assays (CA, USA) and management/training of post-doc fellows at the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute (SBMRI). Responsible by SBMRI Translational Research Campaign that culminated on the isolation and characterization of an inaugural class of NOD1 inhibitors, with possible applications in coronary arteritis, vasculitis, uveitis and multiple sclerosis.
