Alexandra Suhogusoff received her Bachelor degree in Geology from Institute of Geosciences of the University of São Paulo (IGc-USP) in 2003. Currently she is professor at IGc-USP and senior researcher at the Center of Groundwater Research (CEPAS). She obtained her Ph.D. from IGc-USP, developing an alternative latrine to mitigate groundwater contamination by nutrients (nitrate and phosphate) and pathogens, and received her postdoctoral degree from Institute of Geosciences of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (IG-UFRGS), with the groundwater flow numerical modeling of a recharge area of Guarani Aquifer System in Rio Grande do Sul. Her areas of expertise are environmental geochemistry and hydrogeochemistry, water resources pollution, investigation of contaminated areas and modeling of groundwater flow and fate and transport of solute/contaminants.
