Birthplace: Brazil

Graduated in Civil Engineering by The Rio de Janeiro Catholic University (PUC-RJ) in 1974. Dual Master of Engineering in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, by Penn State, in 1980. Ph. D. by the same University in 1986 in Industrial Engineering with minor in Industrial Automation. Works at the Brazilian Institute for Space Reserach since 1986 where presently is Sr. Engineer at the Space Mechanics and Control Division. Former Head of this Division, INPE Planning Deputy Coordinator and member of the coordination committee of the programs Unispace and Microgravity, of the Brazilian Space Agency - AEB.. Founding Member and Vice President of the Brazilian Aerospace Association. Has worked previously in the private sector. Presently develops picosatellites (cubesats) and nanosats in cooperation with brazilian and foreign universities and companies. Has developed the first brazilian space mission with a cubesat, the NanosatC-Br1, launched in June 2014 and still (August 2017) in operation. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
