Doris Catharine Cornelie Knatz Kowaltowski is a Full Professor (2009) at the State University of Campinas, UNICAMP; she obtained a Doctorate (PhD) in Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley (USA) in 1980 and a Master of Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley, in 1970. In 1969 she graduated in Architecture (with honors) from the University of Melbourne (Australia ) with the diploma revalidated in Brazil in 1985. She works as a retired collaborating professor in the Department of Architecture and Construction of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urbanism (FEC/FAU) at UNICAMP. She was the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Course in Architecture and Urbanism at FECFAU at UNICAMP between 1999 and 2002 and in 2006. She was the Associate Director of FECFAU/UNICAMP between 2003 and 2006. She coordinated and coordinates several research projects, with support from FAPESP, FINEP and FAEP / UNICAMP. She was a member of the Coordination of the Architecture and Urban Planning Area at FAPESP from 2006-2018. She worked in two undergraduate courses at UNICAMP: Civil Engineering and Architecture and Urbanism. Teaching focuses on architectural design. In research, interests include specific social housing projects and school architecture. Research areas are: Design methodology and tools to support the project process (Post-occupancy Assessment-APO and Architectural or Needs Program); humanization of architecture, bioclimatic architecture, school architecture and social housing. Graduate studies are connected to the Architecture, Technology and City-ATC program at FECFAU / UNICAMP. She completed the supervision of 10 doctoral theses and 11 master's theses and 33 scientific initiations. Other orientations: 2 post-doctorates. Supervion in progress: 1 masters degree. She is the leader of a research group (Architecture Project Methodology) at CNPq and was until Nov. 2011 leader of the ANTAC working group on Project Quality and APO Post-Occupancy Assessment. She was a chief editor of 3 indexed journals. She received the CNPq Level 1B Productivity Grant for the period 2022-2026. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
