Civil Engineer, M.Sc. in Sanitation and Environment from UNICAMP (2001) and Ph.D. in Hydraulics and Sanitation from EESCUSP, including a Sandwich Ph.D. at Wageningen University, The Netherlands, and Postdoctoral training at Wageningen University and the Netherlands Institute of Ecology. He is currently an Associate Professor at São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP), Bauru Campus, affiliated with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DECA).He served as Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Civil and Environmental Engineering for eight years and currently acts as Vice Coordinator. He has worked as a Visiting Researcher and Visiting Professor at several international institutions, including the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (USA), the Netherlands Institute of Ecology, the University of Trento (Italy), and Wageningen University (The Netherlands). He is a reviewer for several national and international scientific journals.He has extensive experience in Sanitary Engineering, with emphasis on decentralized wastewater treatment, working mainly on the following topics: sanitary wastewater, anaerobic treatment, blackwater, microalgae, nitrogen and phosphorus recovery, algal biomass utilization, constructed wetlands, disinfection processes (ozonation, chlorination, and peroxidation), and disinfection by-products. He is the leader of the CNPq Research Group Use of Microalgae in Post-Treatment of Wastewater. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
