Civil Engineer, Master in Sanitation and Environment from UNICAMP (2001), and PhD in Hydraulics and Sanitation from EESC - USP, with a Sandwich Doctorate at Wageningen University, Netherlands, and Postdoctoral research at Wageningen University and the Netherlands Institute of Ecology. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at São Paulo State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (UNESP), Bauru Campus, affiliated with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DECA). He also coordinates the Graduate Program in Civil and Environmental Engineering.He has worked as a Visiting Researcher and Professor at several international institutions, including the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, the Netherlands Institute of Ecology, the University of Trento, Italy, and Wageningen University, Netherlands. He serves as a reviewer for numerous national and international scientific journals.He has extensive experience in the field of Sanitary Engineering, with a focus on Decentralized Wastewater Treatment, working primarily on the following topics: sanitary sewage, anaerobic treatment, blackwater, microalgae, nitrogen and phosphorus recovery, algal biomass utilization, constructed wetlands, and disinfection (ozonation, chlorination, peroxidation) and by-products. He leads the CNPq Research Group "Utilization of Microalgae in Wastewater Post-Treatment." (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
