He serves as an advisor in the graduate programs in Chemistry, Pharmacy, and Biotechnology at UFMS.His current projects focus on Organic Synthesis and Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry, applied to the development of new drug candidates for various conditions, including neglected diseases, infectious diseases, inflammatory diseases, and degenerative diseases of the Central Nervous System. Professor Baroni has supervised 23 master's and 6 doctoral students in the graduate programs in Chemistry and Pharmacy at UFMS.He has a total of 47 scientific articles published in international journals, with notable contributions in renowned journals such as the Journal of Organic Chemistry, Journal of the American Chemical Society, ACS Infectious Diseases, and the European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, as well as a recent publication in the prestigious Journal of Medicinal Chemistry from the American Chemical Society. Additionally, he has a book chapter published in the "Chemistry of Functional Groups" series in the book: "The Chemistry of Organoaluminum Compounds - Hydroalumination of Alkenes and Alkynes." He has presented approximately 84 abstracts at national and international conferences and serves as a reviewer for several international journals in the fields of Medicinal Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. He served as Department Head of the Pharmacy Course from 2006 to 2009, and as coordinator of the Graduate Program in Pharmacy at UFMS from 2011 to 2016. He is a CAPES consultant in the Quadrennial Evaluation of Graduate Programs in the pharmacy area, for the period 2017-2020.
