Sônia Maria de Carvalho Pinto has a PhD in Aesthetics (2007) from the University of São Paulo with a thesis about Anita Malfatti´s painting. She studied Philosophy at the University of Campinas, where also completed a master's degree in Sociology of Culture with a thesis on the criticism of Theodor W. Adorno to modern culture. She is currently a businesswoman and has a franchise from Moldura Minuto. Sônia teaches in Bilingue School, Pueri Domus, teaching Philosophy and Sociology at had also taught these subjects in a non-governmental organization for 8 years, called Associação Crescer Sempre. In the arts, she formally began her career in 2002, when he attended drawing and painting courses with private teachers, at the Museum of Modern Art in São Paulo and also at the Folkuniversitetet, in Malmö, studying ceramics, wood painting and papeer mache and she has dedicated herself mainly to painting in acrylic and watercolor using various materials such as collage, printing, photography and collage.
